little joys of september
september! summer’s end and fall’s beginning. the start of my favorite time of the year.
the new season brought that fresh start feeling i love. there’s a sense of ambition and calm at the same time. i’m looking forward to all the warm and cozy vibes that come with the fall season, but am also excited and inspired to work on all of my ideas for no rain.
september started with a final weekend at the lake. summer’s send off, yet i had my first ice cream cone of the season. after that, it was straight into cozy season for me. football games, fall flavored lattes, and rainy nights in.
these are a few of the little things that brought me joy this past month. some recipes i’ve been making, books i’ve been reading, movies i’ve been watching. the thing’s i’ve been loving lately.
september’s little joys
cozy fall outfits. sweaters and denim and a necklace made by me — the go to outfit formula this month. i love dressing for fall.
pumpkin season! drinking allll the pumpkin & fall flavored lattes. also made some pumpkin oat balls which were the perfect fall snack.
some “new” additions to my shop. i added some candle refills of my two signature no rain scents as well as stone holder to go with them. i also added a monthly card bundle, so you can get one of each of my cards (recipe, book review, etc) each month along with the mini calendar print for the month.
good books & good movies. i read three books this month, my favorite being sunburn by chloe michelle howarth — review to come, and watched five movies. top movies of the month were before sunset (5⭐️) and a rewatch of 10 things i hate about you (4.5⭐️).
packing orders and seeing pieces i made in my friends’ homes. always love packing orders and seeing the pieces styled in other homes or outfits. popular pieces this month were my cocktail recipe cards and beaded safety pin brooches!
football season & a friday night lights rewatch. my team (the packers) suck, but i still love a football sunday. it’s also the perfect time for rewatch of one of my favorite fall comfort shows — friday night lights.
shopping in wicker park. had been a minute since i’ve spent an afternoon shopping around wicker park! picked up a couple books from myopic books, a few records from reckless records, and a vintage sweater from demolition collection. pretty much the best haul ever.
some small apartment additions. changed out my sheets for a chocolate brown and am loving the red, green, brown color combo happening in my room. i also added a few new decor pieces and am working out a book stack situation for below my tv.
cozy nights in. a rainy saturday night with the windows open, candle burning, cookies in the oven, and a five star movie (before sunset). pretty much the best night ever.
tried a new craft. i made a matching leather pouch for my laptop! easy enough, but not sure leather working is something i’ll continue doing much of. i would like to make a louise carmen inspired journal cover, though — updates to come.
