recipe for the perfect fall sunday

i love fall and i love sundays. a fall sunday is already my ideal day, but here’s my recipe for making it perfect.

sleep in a little. for me that’s around 8:30/9:00, but whatever feels like sleeping in to you works.

then it’s time for breakfast. maybe something fun and fall-themed like pumpkin french toast or pancakes, or something simple like avocado toast or a yogurt bowl. whatever you’re craving. and of course, a fall playlist is playing in the background.

after breakfast, we’re heading out for a walk and grabbing a fun drink. i’ll probably go for something pumpkin-flavored — coffee or chai depending on the mood. it’s sunny but crisp, the perfect sweater-weather kind of day.

once we’re back, it’s time to reset for the week — clean, wash the sheets, do laundry, meal prep, or just make a to-do list. whatever helps you feel organized and ready for the week ahead.

fall sundays also mean football. even if you’re not that into it, there’s something so fun and cozy about having a game on. personally, i only really care about my team (go packers), but otherwise it’s just background noise while you hobby — read, knit, bake a fall treat, scroll pinterest, craft, etc. if football’s not your thing at all, you could always put on a fall-feel show like gilmore girls, vampire diaries, or friday night lights.

dinner is easy: soup. broccoli cheddar, corn chowder, wild rice, chili, tomato soup with grilled cheese — anything warm and cozy, with plenty left over for the week.

after dinner, it’s time for an everything shower — hair wash, exfoliate, lotion, skincare — the works. then into your coziest sweats or pajamas.

movie night comes next. pile on the blankets and pick something fallish. halloween classics like hocus pocus or coraline, nostalgic series like harry potter or twilight, or a cozy favorite like when harry met sally, good will hunting, or little women. maybe popcorn, maybe a fall treat, maybe a fun mocktail while you watch — your choice.

and finally, bedtime. clean sheets, maybe a cup of tea, and a book that feels like fall — a romance, a thriller, a classic reread (i’m currently reading the harry potter series for the first time). then lights out.

and that’s it — the recipe for the perfect fall sunday.
