The Story of No Rain

I started No Rain in 2021 with a dream and a lot of time on my hands during the pandemic. I’d always loved fashion and personal style, but around that time, I became more aware of the environmental harm caused by the fashion industry. That’s when my passion for sustainability really took root. Starting my own clothing brand had always been in the back of my mind, and it felt like the perfect time to just do it. On July 13th, 2021, I launched my site and my first collection of sustainably made t-shirts.

In the beginning, I felt excited and hopeful about the future of No Rain. But over time, that feeling began to shift. As I learned more, my perspective on sustainability in fashion evolved — and I started to question whether a truly “sustainable” fashion brand could even exist.

Still, I kept going. I expanded the shop to include accessories and candles. I tried to rebrand, hoping to reignite my passion. I loved the creative process — the design, the product development — but I couldn’t shake the discomfort of adding more new things to a world already full of stuff. And I couldn’t, in good conscience, convince people to keep buying more.

Eventually, I stepped away from No Rain to give myself space to reflect, rest, and rediscover my inspiration.

Over the years, I had grown more and more drawn to shopping vintage and secondhand. I found real joy in the hunt, in the stories behind the pieces, and in encouraging others to choose secondhand over new. I’d considered shifting No Rain in that direction for a while, but I was waiting for the right moment.

That moment came at the end of 2024. My passion was back, stronger than ever. And from a business perspective, I could sense that the demand for vintage was only going to grow. So, I started sourcing.

My new vision for No Rain is about more than just selling vintage. It's about building community and a space that encourages you to find what sparks joy for you. To embrace the highs and lows, and find beauty and love in your own life.

Going forward, I want No Rain to feel like wandering through your favorite market: timeless vintage clothing and accessories, unique art, thoughtfully crafted home goods, and lifestyle finds from other small, slow brands. Every piece will be chosen with intention — to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and the quiet magic of slow living.
